MindOut is a mental health service run by and for lesbians, gay, bisexual, trans and queer people (LGBT/LGBTQ)

About the service and what to expect

  • Peer mentoring project

The peer-mentoring project gives people with lived experience of mental health the opportunity to be paired up with a trained LGBTQ volunteer. The support offered will be person-centred, (meaning you can choose the type of support you receive) and often focused on helping you develop wellbeing strategies and social networks.

  • Online support

The online support service is an out of hours instant message service that is confidential, non-judgemental and anonymous. It is open every day including weekends and evenings.

The service is run by trained online support workers and mental health advocates who are ready to provide emotional support, information or signpost you in the right direction. You can chat to us about whatever is on your mind, and we will always try to help in whatever way we can.

  • Community Engagement Worker

The Community Engagement Service works in close partnership with Primary and Secondary Clinical Services and other key providers in Brighton and Hove to ensure integrated pathways for people accessing support. Read more here.
